Another Earth Pledge

I posted an Earth Pledge back in 2012, explaining that I am not really the type of person to pledge allegiance to any flag, country, or monarch. But I have no problem doing the same for the Earth, for humanity, and for all life.

I like the pledge to the Earth above (could also be called a vow or oath), and find it to be more favourable than the initial example that I posted, although both are good.

It makes me wonder. If the Earth was One Planet for One People, what use would war be? There would be no enemies, no other, no justification for scapegoating.

There would be just US, indivisible and united in harmony. Imagine what kind of utopia we could create with the trillions of dollars now wasted on state sponsored murder. Imagine what we could do with the collective creativity and contributions of all those killed.

If everyone would recognize the divine here on Earth, and swear an oath to protect it, everything would change. I think the result would be the very definition of heaven.

People currently don't seem interested in the environment and possibly when they wake up and realise that they have been lied to and manipulated the damage will be emense.
I would like the nascent vegan movement grow and expand then promoting the rights of all beings and ecosystems.
Maybe a change in the biome of millions of people may open up consciousness. You have to wonder why our current consciousness is so dull and closed.
    Peace,

This is a bit off topic, but here are a few interesting articles on f2p games:

The first is on 'whales' who are the targeted cash cows

The second shows the company operations:

Really the perfect legal drug. Internet searches stress how good games are for children, reminds me of the early promotion of smoking by doctors.
    Peace,

  3. I'm staying focused on things like your Earth Pledge. Just doing what I can where I am with what I have. I'm a lone wolf here. I thought about it today, how many of the people I know are actually aware of consumerism and capitalism and the damage it is doing to the earth? How many people do I know who are actually doing anything, any small thing to change their behavior in the direction of sustainability or even remotely earth-loving? None. Well, one distant acquaintance who seems to live in line with the same values I have. I don't see her but every year or two and only for short visits in passing when we happen to be at the same event or something. So in my day to day life, I meet NO ONE who is aware or gives a shit about it. I know there are more of us, I know more people are signing up for a more earth-loving way to live, and it's encouraging, but it's not happening around here.

On the topic of war, most people I know are not aware of how many wars the U.S. is participating in or how much killing the U.S. is doing. We're doing a lot of it with drones. The killing drones are being controlled from a military installation in Nevada. People who work there, go in, spend their whole work day guiding drones to kill people and then go home. They say those folks are experiencing psychological problems. Wonder why?

Chris Hedges says out of the past 10,000 years, there's only been 345 years where everyone on the planet has not been at peace, no war. Seems a lofty goal that we'd ever see peace on the entire planet at one time.

Sorry to be a downer! Keep on doing what we can where we are with what we have. It's the only way I can stay sane.

  4. I believe religion is a cause that keeps us from peace and caring for the mother earth.
